Meet Matt Burke, our rock and roll photographer extraordinaire. His roots are in commercial band photography, shooting the likes of Radiohead for Esquire Magazine and hometown bands gone big time like Go Radio and Mayday Parade. He’s also one heck of a wedding photographer. When we had the vision of staging a romantic, candlelit ceremony photo shoot I knew that Matt’s edgy style and crazy talent with lighting was exactly what we needed.
Take a look at how different techniques Matt uses for his rock shows can translate into ethereal wedding day photos:
Lots of overexposed light highlight the simple detail of this elegant wedding dress.
Using light to direct the eye to one central subject keeps the bride and groom the focus as they say ”I do”.
Long shots with visually interesting lighting from above brings a sense of drama to this first dance photo.
